ABOUT DJ SULEX

His migration to South Africa was done in quest for a greener pasture and 14 years later he has bagged awards and also crowned Pretoria’s number one and head DJ in Europa lounge, Sunny side Pretoria, South Africa The word that best describes DJ Sulex; Pretoria’s number one DJ is; “he’s a peaceful guy that fell in love with entertainment”.

True name Sulaimon Yusuf; an indigene of Ifelodun Local Government precisely in Kwara state, Nigeria. His funky name “Sulex” emanated from his real name “Sulaimon. He can best be called an “Igbona Boy” born with a “Golden Spoon”. He was born into the compound of Arowolo and nurtured by a caring father who made sure his descendants had a fair share of his wealth.

DJ Sulex fell in love with Disc Jockey while growing up due to his immediate elder brother’s influence who is also a Disc Jockey and by the name “DJ Legal Mixer”. Sulaimon Yusuf grew up in Kwara state where he attended Trinity Nusery & Primary School, Government High School, Kwara State. After high school he gained admission to study Agricultural Technology in Niger State College of Agriculture.

His career as a Disc Jockey kick started at Afro Rock club Pretoria as the resident DJ 14 years back when he newly arrived South Africa in his quest for a greener pasture. With a good resume to boast of after working for few more other clubs, Home base lounge inclusive, he was employed to play at Europa Lounge in year 2004. His work as a DJ has taken him to places, even Bulgaria. He started from the scratch; his hustle took him to the top and now ranking as  Pretoria’s number one DJ.

DJ Sulex, however, is a "God Father" to many other upcoming DJs. He has worked with and mentored many known DJs now in Pretoria. He mentored and brought the likes of DJ Fun, Kool, Gold Fingers into the game. He was given Best Upcoming Dj at the “Upcoming DJs Award” held in Johannesburg in 2005. He bagged the award of Best Dj in the chain of clubs owned by the owners of Europa. And also best DJ award at Pretoria Music Award held in 2012.

He has worked with Black Coffee, DJ Fresh, Shelter, Kenny Kumalo and Nigeria: Ice Prince, W4, Orezi, Jimmy Jatt.

DJ Sulex is into event management and plays a host to the biggest Tuesday South Africa Hip Hop Night in Europa Lounge. His mission in the Industry is to leave an indelible mark in the Entertainment Industry, own a record label and dish out good entertainment to listeners.
